Founded in Viipuri in 1913, this institution combines lower secondary education, a general upper secondary school and a specialist mathematics upper secondary school. It has about 800 pupils and students. Lower secondary options include mathematics and sports emphases, English-language classes and a school-specific visual arts emphasis. Film is used as a teaching tool. Viipurin Reaalikoulu Oy maintains the upper secondary school.
The lower secondary school serves its local catchment area under a city contract. Aptitude tests are used for specialist classes, while both upper secondary programmes use the national joint application. Grounds parking is for staff; visitors can request a temporary permit from the caretaker or office.
