This City of Helsinki comprehensive school has about 700 pupils in grades 1–9, most of them from the surrounding area. Swedish immersion teaching has a long tradition here, with immersion classes from grade 1, and since 2018 grades 1–6 have also had English-enriched teaching. Sport is emphasised through a sports-focused neighbourhood model run with Urhea.
The first foreign language can be English or German, and Spanish, French and Swedish follow in later grades. Each lunch includes a hot dish, salad, bread and a drink. The route to the building climbs a steep hill; the entrance has steps with handrails and a ramp, and a wheelchair lift serves all three floors.
