This Helsinki music school is a private institution run by an association, with state funding and an operating grant from the City of Helsinki. Students can follow classical, folk or rhythm music (pop, rock and jazz) at basic and advanced level, mainly at school age, though adults can enrol too.
For young children there are music playschool, parent-and-child groups, preparatory instrument lessons and instrument carousels for trying out instruments. Instruments taught include piano, violin, guitar, flute, accordion, kantele (Finnish zither), electric bass and drums, along with singing and music theory. Ensembles include orchestras, a big band, bands and a choir. The entrance is not step-free.
