Students of any age, adults included, can study music at this Helsinki school, which took its current name in summer 2018. It is run by a non-profit supporting association founded in 1946 and backed by the City of Helsinki. Basic arts education follows both the general and the extended syllabus, and there are also early childhood music classes, pre-instrument training, courses, camps and concerts.
There are no entrance exams: students are admitted after an assessment, in order of registration, as places become available. Studies can start flexibly and end at the close of any term. Registration for the next year is done with an online form. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
