Kallio Church's national romantic tower was completed in 1912, and 273 steps lead up to views across Helsinki. Tower tours take 30 to 40 minutes, with up to ten people and two guides per group. Tours run all year, weather permitting: thunderstorms stop them, but rain does not.
Helsinki City Pass holders can join without booking by arriving at a time shown in the calendar, and private and group tours can be arranged on request. Enter by the church's south door, signed for the café and sacristy. There is no lift, so the tower cannot be visited by wheelchair users or anyone unable to climb stairs, and assistance and guide dogs are not allowed. Visitors must be 18 or over.
