This private early childhood education centre is one of a group of small, home-like daycare centres with both Finnish-speaking and English-speaking units. The approach is functional bilingualism: children are taught in their mother tongue and pick up a second language through play, songs and rhymes. The second language is used as a tool in everyday activities rather than taught as a subject.
The aim is to build understanding of the second language's culture and bring language groups closer together. Cooperation with parents is close, and the educational partnership is long-term. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
