This small, close-knit City of Helsinki day care centre has three groups with about 40 children in total, and the groups work together and help each other. Tiitiäiset is for ages 1–2, while Maahiset and Peikot are for ages 3–5. It forms a joint early childhood education unit with the Fredriksberg and Pasila day care centres.
Care is provided in Finnish. The entrance is on the side of the outdoor play yard, and the drop-off point is less than five metres from the door. The route to the door is level and wide enough, but there is a steep hill on the way. The doors are heavy, the vestibule is narrow, indoor thresholds are over 2 cm high, and the accessible toilet lacks grab bars.
