This self-service laundromat is at Prisma Viikki in Helsinki and belongs to a chain whose laundries are all in shopping centres. Machines take up to 19 kg, and there are regular washers, rug washers, tumble dryers and lockable drying cabinets for rugs, plus special programmes for down pillows and jackets.
No booking is needed: load the machine, choose a programme and pay by card at the terminal. Fragrance-free detergent is dosed automatically, a tumble-dry cycle takes about 30 minutes, and rugs can stay in a drying cabinet for up to 24 hours. Instructions are posted on site, and the car park and entrance are accessible.
