Angelo Marchese, from Licodia Eubea in Sicily, worked as an assistant baker in Switzerland in 1975, then came to Finland on holiday at a friend's invitation and stayed on to become a restaurateur. His Helsinki trattoria has been running since 1986. The menu covers antipasti, pasta, mains, pizza, salads and desserts, plus a house lasagne.
All pasta dishes can be made gluten-free, and there is a children's menu. With only 24 seats, it is worth booking by phone, email or the contact form, and the whole restaurant can be hired for private events. Takeaway is available, drinks include wine, beer and coffee, and cards and mobile payments are accepted. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
