This artificial turf football pitch lies in Hietaniemi, near Hietsu beach and west of Mechelininkatu. The turf was laid in 2013 after a decision by the city's Sports Board, with the football clubs HIFK Soccer, FC Kiffen 08 and Pallo-Pojat Juniorit among the projects behind it.
In winter the Sports Office freezes the pitch into an outdoor skating rink, open from mid-December to mid-March depending on the weather. The adjacent Väinämöinen rink is used for skating and, in summer, for roller hockey and roller derby. The pitch is in Väinämöinen Park, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
