Founded in 1999, the national patient and advocacy organisation supports people with thyroid and parathyroid diseases through 14 regional associations. A peer-support phone line is staffed by trained volunteers with personal experience of illness.
It publishes a quarterly membership magazine and introductory guides in Finnish, English, Swedish and Braille. A lifestyle-change programme and talks by experience-based volunteers are also offered. Grants, membership fees and fundraising support its work.
