The scouting district brings together 110 local troops and around 12,000 Finnish-speaking scouts in the metropolitan area. Run mainly by volunteers, it provides activities for children and young people and volunteering roles for adults. The district supports troops through training and events and belongs to Finland's national scout association.
Scout cabins and camp areas can also be rented by non-scouts. The district organises summer camps and publishes Heppu magazine. Its office is at Partioasema, with accessible entry, seating, parking and a toilet.
