The nationwide association's clowns work in all Finnish university hospitals. Visits to children's wards follow the child's lead and are coordinated with hospital staff. Activities also include remote visits for children in isolation, home visits for long-term haematology patients and clown work with older people.
Children can use an app and a playful section of the website. The association publishes a blog about families' experiences and a newsletter. Donations, grants and corporate partnerships fund the work. Since 2017 it has belonged to EFHCO, the European healthcare clown federation, which sets a shared quality standard.
Has your family met the clowns in hospital or during a remote visit? You can share your experience on Suomi Guide.
