The nature-conservation organisation has around 29,000 members, roughly 150 local associations and 15 regional districts nationwide. It advocates for nature through working groups, statements and court cases. The organisation restores drained peatlands and reports over 2,000 hectares restored.
Businesses can join as partners, supporting members or donors. Services include the EKOenergy environmental label for renewable energy and the EcoCompass environmental management system. A nature magazine is also published.
