Founded in 1938, this subject association represents religion teachers' professional and economic interests and promotes religious education. It prepares scoring guidelines for evangelical-Lutheran religion matriculation exams, as well as preliminary and year-nine exams. It operates in Finnish and Swedish.
Members can attend seminars, winter gatherings and study trips. Local clubs provide training and networking, and the member magazine is Synsygus. The association represents teachers in professional organisations and international EFTRE cooperation and gives awards to teachers and matriculation candidates.
