This scientific and cultural association preserves, researches and shares knowledge of Swedish-speaking culture in Finland. Its work includes an archive, library, books, music recordings and the magazines Källan and Vi Läser. It also hosts the Finnish Swedish folk music institute.
Support includes project grants, scholarships, research positions and writers' residencies. The association organises seminars and events and publishes podcasts and a blog. Its Vaasa premises include a research room.
