Theatre has been made in the Vuoksenlaakso area since 1903. The company has six permanent actors, plus sound and light designers, a costume designer, stage crew and office staff, and visiting artists work on almost every production. The main stage is the new theatre building in the city centre, opened in February 2017, with a 202-seat auditorium. The Pikku Hiisi studio stage in the building next door hosts children's productions such as baby theatre, and the summer theatre in Kruununpuisto is also used for the company's productions.
The theatre building has a restaurant, with catering available when pre-ordered. Group tours for 5 to 15 people last about 30 minutes, and spaces can be rented for events and Christmas parties, with group ticket packages on offer. Accessibility: the entrance and movement between spaces are step-free, the toilet is accessible, and the auditorium has wheelchair spaces and an induction loop. A carer or support person with a disability card marked A gets free admission.
