Urho Kekkonen National Park in Inari, Lapland, protects part of the Koilliskaira forest wilderness. The landscape is dominated by a vast, unbroken fell area and natural coniferous forest, and in the dark season the northern lights can appear overhead. Hikers will find plenty of huts across the area.
You can explore in every season on marked trails and maintained ski tracks, and with a map and compass you can also head off-trail. Some routes suit children, and dogs are allowed. The car park is accessible and there are public toilets. Trails and services are described on Metsähallitus's luontoon.fi website.
