Short courses for businesses and individuals include training for cards, licences and professional qualifications. Courses can be tailored to a company's or participant's needs. Apprenticeship-based vocational education combines study with paid employment.
Apprentices need to find a workplace first, work at least 25 hours a week and have a workplace instructor appointed by their employer. Sufficient Finnish is required, or English for an English-language qualification. Individuals pay online when registering, or their employer pays by invoice. Business customers are invoiced at the start of training.
