This environmental artwork on the market square consists of a blue stream set into the ground and three wooden gates. Artists Enja Kaski and Marja Purto worked with architects Osmo Karttunen and Antti Torikka on its design. Local entrepreneurs donated the work following a design competition initiated for the city's 150th anniversary in 1998.
The artwork crosses the entire square from the front of the art museum to the opposite side. The third gate was completed during the square's renovation in 2018. The entrance and parking area are wheelchair accessible.
