The local action group funds rural service and wellbeing projects and helps residents develop ideas into projects. Its area includes Heinävesi, Kontiolahti, Liperi, Outokumpu, Polvijärvi and rural areas around the regional centre.
Leader funding supports rural micro-enterprise start-ups, business takeovers, development and renewable energy investments. Trials of new farming methods can receive support for up to three years. The entrance, seating and toilet are not wheelchair accessible.
