This non-profit regional district of the Finnish Heart Association covers North Karelia and Savonlinna. It was founded on 6 June 1956 and coordinates 19 active local heart associations with about 4,500 members.
It offers peer support for people with heart disease and their relatives. The local associations organise courses, lectures, exercise groups, hikes and heart clubs, and there is a heart camp at the Tanhuvaara sports institute. The office is in the Iso Myy shopping centre, and new members join through a local heart association.
