This football club was founded on 17 January 2010 at a university biology department. It has about 450 licensed players, with boys' and girls' teams across several age groups and two men's teams. The men's first team was established in 2018 and played in the national Kakkonen league in 2022. The home ground, Comets Park in Keltinmäki, was completed in 2017 and also holds the club office and meeting rooms.
The youngest players can join Perhefutis (family football) for ages 2 to 5 with an adult, or Valioliiga club-style football for ages 5 to 9. The club is run largely by volunteers and part-time coaches, and it openly recruits coaches and volunteers. Individuals can support it as a supporting member. Each August it organises the Comets Cup youth boys' tournament.
