The association was founded in 1980 as Äijälän vammaisten tuki ry to support the integration of people with disabilities into society, and it took its present name in 2019. It works from the old Vanha-Äijälä farmhouse in Väinölä, which has served as a family home, a supported living facility and an early childhood care site. It provides rehabilitative work activities, work trials, work placements and day activities for people with intellectual disabilities.
A weekly MLL parent café meets in the house, and summer nature and heritage camps are held for children. International volunteer work camps have been run since the 1980s. The farmhouse's main room is also a meeting place for the Väinölä village association.
