The roughly 12 km trail follows paths, roads and field edges from a school to the Sivi wilderness hut. It forms part of the Muinaisvuoret trail network. It is suitable for summer walking, with sections groomed for skiing in snowy winters. Bogs near Peurajärvi can be difficult to cross, and parts of the trail are basic.
Peurajärvi has a public beach, gazebo, campfire site and toilet. Rest stops include lean-tos at Korpinpesä, Kakkorinmaja and Sivi, plus the Sivi wilderness hut. A hut on top of Iso-Kakkori offers wide views. The municipal sports office maintains the route and ski track.
