The hotel stands in the centre of the city and has 60 rooms, none of them identical. The building was completed in 1894 as a three-storey house with 13 travellers' rooms and a cellar restaurant. It was extended to six storeys in 1943 and became one of the largest buildings in the city. It has been run for over two decades by Anne Katajalaakso, and a local legend about a ghost called Elsi, a former maid, is part of its atmosphere.
There are meeting and event rooms and saunas, and Corner's Pub serves food and drinks in a casual pub atmosphere. Breakfast is included, and Wi-Fi and parking are free. Pets are welcome, and the hotel is non-smoking and child-friendly. There is no pool, gym or airport transfer.
