The café belongs to a family-owned bakery business that began in 1957 as Pulla Pojat and is now in its third generation. It makes buns, sweet pastries, doughnuts, cakes and confectionery by hand to traditional recipes. According to its website, it uses as few additives as possible and chooses raw materials with a focus on quality. The café serves home-style cooking, including a soup lunch.
The bakery was renamed Harjun Leipomo in the 1970s, and cafés opened in the 1980s. Its bakery products are also sold in the bread sections of local grocery stores. The entrance and seating are wheelchair accessible.
