This developmental disability medicine clinic is run by Soite, the Central Ostrobothnia wellbeing services county. It focuses on rehabilitation planning and follow-up for children and young people with developmental disabilities. It also supports families and helps with behavioural problems and crises for people of all ages with developmental disabilities. Services include individual activity-level assessments and mapping of a family's service needs.
Rehabilitation plans are drawn up together with the client, their relatives and other partner agencies. The clinic offers network work, rehabilitation guidance and follow-up, and regional information. Staff include a physician, purchased-service physicians, a psychologist, a social worker, a rehabilitation planner and an occupational therapist. Adult services for people with developmental disabilities are primarily handled by basic disability services, and the clinic is arranged on referral from a disability social worker.
