This public aquarium shows the fish and aquatic nature of Finnish fresh waters and the Baltic Sea. About 22 tanks hold around 60 native fish species, plus crayfish and, in summer, frogs. At certain times of year fish spawning can be observed. Rotating exhibitions show art and wildlife photography.
Guided tours can be booked for groups, including school and daycare visits. On site are the Meripuoti souvenir shop and the Merisydän café. The Kaikukortti, the local culture card, is accepted, cultural vouchers are not, and the venue suits families. It holds the Sustainable Travel Finland label. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible, and it stands in Sapokka Harbour.
