The upper secondary school's broad curriculum allows specialisation in maths, sciences, humanities or arts and crafts. It has a wide language programme and has offered an IB track since 1994. Its roots extend to a trivial school founded in 1788 and an upper secondary school established in 1844. The Engel-designed main building was completed in 1826.
Facilities include biology, physics and chemistry laboratories, a language studio, library and reading room. A Sigma maths club supports studies, with an active student council and tutors. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
