The regional physicians' association brings colleagues together, supports professional competence and represents members' societal interests. Activities include publications, meetings, lectures, continuing education and recreation. It organises the Eastern Finland Medical Event and makes representations to authorities.
Doctors and medical students can apply for membership, subject to board approval. Travel, clinical and student encouragement grants are offered. Awards include the Martti Hämäläinen award and Doctor of the Year recognition.
