Founded in 1998, the plastics research, development and innovation unit serves plastic product manufacturers and machinery and equipment makers using plastic components. Expert and project services include finding funding and delivering projects. Its testing laboratory supports product development and quality control.
Services include plastics testing, trial runs, recycling studies and complaint analysis. The management system for product development, testing and research is ISO 9001:2015 certified. With the Finnish plastics industry association, the unit operates the New Plastics Center NPC expertise network focused on biomaterial innovation. The building and parking area offer wheelchair access.
