Founded as a spirits distillery in 1883, the group manufactures malt and cereal-based ingredients for the food and beverage industry. It remains owned by the same family, now in its fifth generation. Malt production began in 1934 and exports in the 1960s. The group includes malt producer Viking Malt and Senson, which makes grain extracts, enzymes and other ingredients.
Customers include breweries, distilleries, bakeries and other food manufacturers in over 65 countries. Grain is sourced from local farms in Northern Europe. Malt is also supplied for whisky production, supported by an in-house research and development centre.
