The rural development association acts as a Leader group for Varkaus, Suonenjoki, Rautalampi, Tervo and Vesanto and surrounding communities. It supports local development and business projects proposed by residents, companies and community organisations. A Youth Leader programme supports young people's ideas.
Advice covers project planning, funding applications and implementation. Leader applications are accepted continuously through the Hyrrä online service. Membership is open to local residents and organisations. Accessible parking is available.
