This unemployment fund is open to all wage earners. According to its website, it is the largest in Finland, with about 533,756 members. It was founded in 1991 and pays earnings-related unemployment allowance to its members.
Business is handled online through the OmaYTK service, where members send messages, apply for allowance and check payment details. An allowance calculator and a payment forecast are also available. Job-search support comes through the YTK Sytyke service and webinars, and the fund publishes guidance on becoming unemployed, being laid off, part-time work and returning to work. The entrance and car park are wheelchair accessible.
