This special military history museum presents the history and traditions of the Finnish infantry. It was founded in 1982 in the former barracks area and occupies two wooden barracks built in the 1880s. There is a permanent exhibition as well as separate special exhibitions, and the museum has a shop. It is run by the Infantry Museum Foundation, which collects, researches and presents infantry-related objects and museum material.
Admission is free for war veterans, conscripts and children under 7, and the Museum Card is accepted. Wheelchair lifts (weight limit 225 kg) give access to both buildings. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
