This Karelian bakery makes traditional Karelian pies, breads and pastries. It began in 1992 as a two-person home bakery and now runs a production facility of nearly 3,000 square metres with about 100 employees. The range includes the classic Karelian pie, a rice-free oat version and a vegan pie. The oat pie uses oats instead of rice and combines rye, wheat, butter and oats.
The products are sold through S Group in-store bakeries and frozen food sections. Lactose-free and vegan options are available, the pie production holds an A-level BRCGS certificate, and the products are now palm-oil-free. The next step is expanding beyond Finland's borders.
