This outdoor sculpture installation by artist Riikka Keränen is part of the ARToulu art area. It has four parts, made of clay, sand, straw, horse manure, lime, natural pigments and linseed oil. The clay comes from the Kainuu region, while the straw and sand come from the artist's family farm. Keränen is a visual artist and mixed-media worker based in Ristijärvi who graduated from Kankaanpää art school in 2010.
Because the materials are organic and porous, the work is exposed to the weather and will change and decompose over time. It is maintained once a year each spring until 2030, after which it is left to age naturally. The work has been donated to the city's art museum collection. It stands on grass on a mound next to the central playground of Meri-Toppila, reached by an asphalt and paved path. It can be viewed, and visitors are allowed to touch it.
