The umbrella organisation brings together regional engineer corps associations and a nationwide engineer officers' association. It publishes Hakku magazine, founded in 1923, covering the branch's present, development and history. Heritage activities include museum work and historical publications.
Membership is for associations rather than individuals. The league arranges training with partner organisations and an annual Hakku seminar. It belongs to the Finnish Defence Guilds League.
