This wooden church was built in 1763–65 by local farmers in Central Finland and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. It stands about 30 km from Jyväskylä and hosts religious services and concerts. It can receive groups of up to 250 at once, with guided visits and ready-made group packages.
It is open daily in summer, from 1 June to 31 August, and in winter by advance booking only. The online shop sells entrance tickets, concert tickets and merchandise. Parking is free, and the car park and toilet are wheelchair accessible, but the entrance is not, and there is no hearing loop or accessible seating.
