Bothnian Sea National Park is 90 per cent water: a narrow, 160-km strip of outer archipelago stretching from Merikarvia to Kustavi, including the sea off Pori. Visitors can explore the history of old fortress islands and the lighthouse islands.
The recommended season is spring to autumn, and the area is suitable for the whole family, with child-friendly routes and picnic tables. Many islands are reached by boat or kayak, and boat transfers to the islands are arranged. Metsähallitus publishes information on boating, hiking facilities and getting there on its Luontoon.fi website.
