This natural history museum shows the nature of the Satakunta region in a former telephone exchange building, now called Luontotalo. The permanent exhibition Metsistä merelle (From forest to sea) covers coastal land uplift, river mouths, bogs and forest. It includes a bear den, bird observation tower and lighthouse that children can explore, plus Säppi island with mouflons, Paratiisin lehto with a beaver habitat, and large predators. The temporary exhibition Selkämeren pinnan alla (Below the surface of the Selkämeri sea) presents marine species.
The museum offers guided activities and events, including bird evenings organised with a local bird society. The Museum Card is accepted, and entry is free for under 18s and students. An online shop and tickets are available through the website. The car park and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
