Run by the NYTE artists' association, this non-profit contemporary art space was founded in 1989. It began as a one-room gallery and later expanded to three rooms. The association was formed in 1987 by visual artists and film professionals and is also associated with performance art.
Exhibitions run year-round and change roughly every four to five weeks, with international artists among those shown. The gallery has occupied its present premises since 2019, and its history is documented in the local art museum's research archive.
