Bringing together seven local associations, the regional conservation district monitors nature and land use in Satakunta. It takes part in regional working groups and comments on environmental permits, planning, wind power and solar projects. It helped establish Bothnian Sea National Park and has acquired four protected areas through its conservation fund.
Local associations organise excursions, volunteer work days, events and discussions. People interested in conservation can join the activities as volunteers.
