This craft association was founded in April 2014 and entered in the association register on 2 June 2014. It aims to promote appreciation of craftsmanship and art and to develop craft as a profession. Members include traditional craftspeople, painters, graphic artists and digital artists, as well as students and retired craftspeople. Products must be made by hand by the members themselves, with as high a Finnish share of origin as possible. Membership does not require a business ID.
The association advises and helps members with information and guidance, and assists with fairs, exhibitions and other events. Its activity centres on the Soma Shop in the Forum shopping centre, which sells only Finnish handmade products: jewellery, clothing and accessories, bags, art, interior items and small gifts. Orders are shipped together in one tracked package. Sales events, courses and recreational activities are also organised.
