Established in 1998, this national park in Pöytyä, Southwest Finland, is known above all for its bogs. As its Finnish name suggests, the bog is home to cranes, and you may hear their calls on a hike. There are also old-growth forests, and in spring you can listen to owls calling.
Marked trails link up with the Kuhankuono hiking network outside the park, together forming more than 150 km of routes, with lean-to shelters along the way. In snowy winters a ski track crosses the bog. It is a short trip from Turku, and the parking area is accessible.
