This pastry café opened in 1982 and is one of two cafés run by Kontio bakery. The bakery was founded in 1954, and the current bakery dates from 1973 under the Laaksonen family. It is known for vanilla doughnuts, baked in summer in the courtyard garden café. Breads, cakes, pastries and seasonal confectionery are made by hand by local bakers and confectioners, to eat on site or take away.
Orders are taken for meetings, birthdays, graduations and weddings; orders for over 10 people should be placed in advance. The Kabinetti room can be booked for meetings and coffee gatherings through an inquiry form. The family business is in its third generation, belongs to the Hyvä Konditoria chain and won the first Pauligin Kultakuppi (Golden Cup) in 1985. The entrance and car park are not wheelchair accessible.
