The international meeting place serves seafarers and others working in or visiting the port. Local port mission work began in 1930. Facilities include Wi-Fi, billiards and television, with snacks at the canteen and a small shop selling souvenirs and practical travel items.
Access to the closed port area must be arranged with the port chaplain or coordinator. Confidential conversation support, local guidance, bicycles to borrow and transport when needed are available. Volunteer and internship opportunities are offered. English and sign language are used as common languages.
