Designed by Alvar Aalto, Lappia Hall was completed in 1975 as part of an administrative and cultural centre. Its roof represents the fells of Lapland. There are three stages: Tieva with 386 seats, the 150-seat Saivo cellar theatre and Kero with 70 seats.
The building also hosts weddings, congresses and concerts. A second-floor restaurant seats up to 200, with a cocktail bar in the cellar. The lobby theatre shop sells Finnish and Lappish jewellery, accessories, clothing, cards and design items. The entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
