This underground museum and science centre combines the Lapland provincial museum with the Arctic Centre exhibitions. The displays look at northern nature, cultures and history from an Arctic perspective. The building has Arctic architecture and also hosts events.
The Museum Card is accepted, and the Culture Pass gives access to two central cultural sites. Groups can book guided tours and use a digital visitor guide, and teachers can preview the exhibitions free of charge. The café serves a lunch of salad buffet, a hot fish or meat dish, a vegetarian dish and bread, with dietary marks on the menu. The shop sells gifts and souvenirs. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
